  Before going out on Sunday night, my garage door wouldn't open. Taking a closer look at the garage door springs, the right spring was clearly broken in half. Sent out a request for estimates on Yelp and Eric with Next Hour Garage Door Repair was the first highly rated business to respond. He was ready to come out in 20m (yes this was Sunday night), but since I was out at dinner, scheduled him to come out Monday instead.

I'm pretty handy (I upgraded my garage door opener myself) and was thinking about replacing my own springs, but didn't want to do the research and wait for parts to come in while having a broken garage door the whole time.

So Eric showed up promptly the next day and was able to take care of the fix within an hour. He also helped lube my door. He let me watch the repair being done and it clearly seemed like he's done this job 1,000 times. He also answered a lot of questions (like how to calculate how many times the springs need to be wound) that helped me better understand how garage doors work.

Price wise I paid $325. $200 for the springs. Got the USA made medium duty springs which I was told lasts about 5,000 cycles (or was it 10? I forgot). $125 for the labor. Quoted out springs and tools online for around $150. Would've probably taken me half a day to figure this thing out and not being able to use the garage door for a week, so was worth it. Will definitely be calling Eric again for my future garage door needs!
